Could there be light at the end of the tunnel for Tyra Banks‘America’s Next Top Model’?

According to new reports, the recently axed series may not be ready for a burial just yet.

Details below…

Deadline columnist Nellie Andreeva revealed that the CW show’s executive producer Ken Mok was inundated with interests from cable networks and streaming video-on-demand providers keen to discuss the potential for new episodes for the franchise – which is due to end in December (after 13 years and 22 cycles).

ANTM has remained popular through re-runs on stations such as Oxygen and Bravo, as well as on VOD’s such as Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu. Could any of the aforementioned be on the cusp of scooping it up?

According to Andreeva, after formulating a pitch, Mok is making formal presentations this week.

All of this is reportedly with the blessing of co-creator Tyra, who would continue as a producer. No official word on whether she’d still appear on-screen, yet with new show the FABLife not enjoying the ratings hoped, we can’t see why she wouldn’t.

If there’s interest, we say “why not”!

That said, if indeed picked up for a new order, we hope the show makes some fundamental changes to revive the magic that made it such a compelling watch once upon a time.

Because there’s something quite disheartening about Top Model not yielding any more stars (of the fashion or TV personality variety) in the last few years. We want more Yaya Docastas, more Toccorras, and more Eva Marcilles.

In any case, we want to know: should America’s Top Model come back?

Your thoughts?

Yes. The first ten cycles were just amazing the contestant just had more oomph to them.

The introduction of the guys made me get a little wet… Not even going to lie…

It seems like a mega franchise that could do well on a Netflix if a network like BET which has next to no programming these days doesn’t want to pick it up.

Also shocking none of the women’s networks would want it. Tbh I’m shocked The CW would not continue it. What shows do they have.
